Wedding DJ’s are very important on your big day. Although they are not there with you every step of the way they can definitely make or break the end of the night at the reception from cocktail hour all the way through toasts and on to the dance floor. I’d definitely be careful who you choose for this job because its never the best idea to use your friends Spotify with whatever bluetooth speaker you have. No matter how good the playlist is. A professional DJ is there to get people on the dance floor, to make those memories last! They are also there to make all those big announcements over the mic. No doubt without at-least an MC your wedding could turn to chaos quickly.

Important!
Unfortunately some DJ’s have started to offer services that can impact your wedding photos and video!
- Some DJ’s take pictures or video during the reception with a low quality camera Sometimes they even live stream them to TV screens for all the guests to see. This seems pretty cool, right? Here is the thing though… When a DJ does this there is no way for guests to know who is taking the pictures. The images are unedited and not lit well. This misleads people into thinking the photographer is not doing their job professionally. Additionally the DJ’s some times even get in the way of the wedding photographer / videographer causing you the customer to lose that special moment.
- High powered / low quality DJ lights in the reception area. This can look cool in person, however, the lights are of such poor quality that they can actually cause a huge color cast in your photos and flicker in your video. This means there is a chance you won’t be able to see your wedding guests reactions to your first dance. Some lights are programmed to move and change colors/patterns etc. If you don’t want a big green spot on your face during your first dance you can simply ask your DJ to leave those lights off at-least until later in the night at the end of reception.
